Did you know?

Vultures are birds of prey, but not raptors because they don't crush their prey with their feet. They are actually scavengers, and rarely, if ever, kill for food.  They are often  considered raptors because their Asian and European cousins are full raptors, with crushing claws and beaks.  New world vultures are  different. alt

Support the Refuge

Donations and volunteering support us...

We are not supported by any government organization or large foundation.  we are a local group who operates on very little.  As a result, we are happy with most donations.  While money is nice, other donations are welcome as well.

MONETARY DONATIONS can be cash, checks, credit card (through our agent), and paypal.

Our agent for purchases and sales, as well as credit card donations is Virtual reflections. for information please email

VOLUNTEER HELP is one of our main needs.  We need people to help transport animals, help clean and maintain equipment, help with  business errands and more.  If you want to help out, call or email us. be warned it is hard and thankless work, and we are very picky about who we let near the birds.

FOOD DONATIONS to feed the birds directly are also available. We get our food from Mike Dupuy Hawk food.  You can order food in our name from them , and it will be sent to us.  Here is the website: http://mikedupuyhawkfood.com/

LAND DONATION -  Our refuge is in  private land  of less than an acre.  To make a good sized refuge, and one  able to have visitors, we  need more land. A donation of 10 acres would help us set up a great display and have visitation, and likely even eagles in residence.

ITEM DONATIONS for several items we regularly use and need replace are also helpful.  Many items are findable at dollar stores, so kids can make donations as well.    Here a a list of some of the low priced items we constantly  use:
